What is Sound Therapy

Everything in this Universe is energy vibrating at different frequencies.
A human being is an energy form or an energy field with a specific frequency.

Sound Massage with Tibetan singing bowls:

Our thoughts and emotions affect our energy field and thus our frequency. If the energy field is out of balance, physical, emotional, and mental symptoms are generated.

By affecting our energy field with specific frequencies – this is called entrainment, our physic, thoughts, and feelings are affected in a positive direction. Resonance and entrainment mean that two arbitrary vibrating bodies will try to synchronize with each other, whereby the weaker vibrating body will follow the stronger one.

If we change the energy field, physical, emotional, and mental behavior patterns will also change.

Sound therapy is a holistic method that addresses the body, mind, and soul. The purpose is to prevent and avoid dis-ease and to maintain health on all levels.

The presence of any dis-ease suggests that the body is out of tune, out of balance. The energy is not flowing freely. When sound vibrations travel through the body, they remove blockages, and the energy can flow freely again. Sound therapy support the body to heal itself by guiding the body back to its natural vibrational state and recreate harmony in the body.

  • Sound and vibration help to facilitate shifts in our brainwaves and in our body.
  • It is a beautiful, gentle and effective way to restore and maintain balance and harmony both physically, mentally, and emotionally.
  • It creates movement in the system and brings things to the surface, that needs to be addressed.
  • It is grounding and increase the connection with the body.
  • It slows down the brain waves and stops the monkey mind.
  • It brings the receiver very fast into a deep meditative state, a state of deep relaxation where the body’s own healing ability is activated.
  • It relaxes and reset the whole system.
  • Sound has the ability to restore peace within and without.

Sound therapy is based on ancient knowledge of how sound affects the body. Sound needs a medium such as water or air to spread. In water, sound spreads especially quickly, and since the human body contains about 75% water, it is particularly susceptible to sound. Our body is therefore extremely sensitive to sound therapy. The body resonates with the sound and starts vibrating.

Sound therapy affects all bio systems:

  • Cardiovascular
  • Hormonal
  • Cerebral

The electrical impulses of our brain cells vary depending on whether we are awake or asleep. The electrical pulses can be measured as brain waves of different frequencies. Low frequency alpha waves 8 – 13 hz characterize our semi-dormant state, for example, just before falling asleep or the state we are in during light meditation. Theta waves 4 – 7 hz are found in the sleep and dream phase as well as during deep meditation. When our brain waves vibrate in alpha and theta states, we find ourselves in a state of deep relaxation. The deep rest affects the whole organism. Our energy systems can de-stress, regenerate and reset. Disharmonic vibrations that manifest themselves as pain, tension, blockages, and discomfort are dissolved naturally and the already healthy vibrations are strengthened.

Sound therapy instruments regenerate a higher vibration in the listener.

  • Grounding

“We are slowed down sound and light waves, a walking bundle of frequencies tuned in to Cosmos. We are souls dressed up in sacred biochemical garments and our bodies are the instruments through which our souls play their music.”

Albert Einstein
